Lady Allen Adventure Playground

All Primary pupils have the opportunity to visit Lady Allen Adventure Playground regularly, giving them the opportunity to explore the outdoors in a secure environment. It is an adventure playground for children with disabilities and their siblings housed in a secure site on the edge of Wandsworth Common.  It is an extensive outdoor space with two tree houses, ramps, wobbly bridge, rope bridge, fireman’s pole, ladders and climbing elements.

Also outside there is a central tower with climbing wall and scramble net, a zip wire, a giant see saw, a large nest swing, a wide wooden slide, a tree platform, a sand pit complete with real sailing boat, a sensory garden, a vegetable patch, a wild wooded area, and a network of tarmac paths where the children can use the many two and three wheeled bikes and trailers. On rainy days, there is an indoor centre with soft play equipment. The beautiful setting, with mature trees offers an opportunity to enjoy the natural world, including mud! Many students are entranced by the play of light through the leaves.

Classes are driven in the school minibus.  Visiting Lady Allen is often the highlight of the pupils' week, as it provides a safe place for them to have fun, take safe risks and explore in a supported but more relaxed atmosphere.

Lower, Middle and Upper School pupils can access Lady Allen as an after school club and it is also often open at weekends and during the holidays for our pupils to attend and sometimes play alongside their siblings.

Please click on Lady Allen’s website (shown below), which will give you more information about what they do and also what you can do to support them in their fantastic work.
