School Council

In recent years the School Council has been successful in redesigning our school playground.  Our playground boasts a whole range of exercise equipment, an outdoor shelter, a grassed area, and a range of playtime games. There is something for everyone and even the staff have enjoyed the experience!

The School Councillors themselves designed the new Paddock School cafe flag which flies whenever the shop is open. The group was also instrumental in generating ideas of ways to raise the profile of our new school cafe within the local and wider community. Several councillors attended our Grand Opening, a wonderful evening celebration with celebrity Chef Tana Ramsay officiating.

School Governors regularly attends our School Council meetings.

Our School Councillors are elected annually and we have 9, one from each class.   One of our KS3/4 teachers helps to facilitate the running of the meetings.

The School Council have been working very hard this year and enjoy meeting together to share ideas and make Paddock School even better. The elected class councillors are proud to represent Paddock School and wear the School Councillor badges with pride.

In the past, they decided to spruce up our school garden. They visited the garden together to have a look around and each councillor filled in a tick sheet for exciting things that they would like to see in the garden. They decided they would like to make our school garden a more sensory experience for all pupils to enjoy. Some students would like a fun xylophone; some suggested a water feature and other students would like more colourful plant pots and also wind chimes. They took the time to share their ideas with everyone in the meeting and will share ideas with their classes.
