From time to time, we may become aware that there is head lice within the school. Head lice infections are common in children of school age and are not harmful.
We would, however, like to remind you of the importance of regularly carrying out detection combing to check for the presence of head lice. Information about transmission, control and treatment can be found on the Public Health website written by the government https://www.gov.uk/guidance/head-lice-pediculosis or the NHS website https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/head-lice-and-nits/.
Don’t forget if you do find head lice on your child’s hair to let all close contacts (including the school) know about it – so everyone can check for head lice.
If you would like any further information on head lice please speak to our Paddock School Nurse, or your local pharmacist / doctor.
