The Erasmus Project

This was a joint 3 year fully funded project between Paddock School and two schools in Slovenia - Vrtec Ledina Kindergarten and Ljublijana School for the deaf. Teachers from all three schools,  worked on compiling guidelines for professionals working with children with SEN and wrote a questionnaire that other professionals are now able to use to highlight if a pupil has a language delay.  It is called 'From Zero We Start.'  The project was completed in May 2017.

In May 2015, Ljubljana hosted five teachers from Paddock School. The visit focused on the importance of supporting language development within the formative years 0-3. Within the beautiful surroundings of Slovenia, Paddock enjoyed the opportunity to work with colleagues from Vrtec Ledina Kindergarten and Ljublijana School for the Deaf and their generous hospitality. The week was rounded off by an insightful talk from Slovenias MENSA president Ranko Rajovic  and a visit to the stunning Lake Bled.

Paddock School would like to express their thanks to Vrtec Ledina Kindergarten and Ljublijana School for the Deaf for hosting us. We learnt so much from our colleagues in Slovenia about their approach to Early Childhood education. The teachers who welcomed us into their classes were very generous with their time and gave us a real idea of what good practice looks like in Slovenia. This was all appreciated in the surroundings of their beautiful city of Ljubljana. Over the next couple of years we look forward to you experiencing the British Early Years education system and returning their kind hospitality.

Paddock welcomed their Slovenian partners when they came to England and everyone contributed an Autism focus towards the research project. Visiting teachers from Slovenia received training, observed classes and worked alongside the Paddock teachers to design the questionnaire.
